Welbeck Defence School: Do you have to join the army afterwards?
Well we are planning our A levels now, and I want to go to Welbeck defence college which accepts 175 kids a year into their campus. It says that the college will help you go towards a career in the army, they also pay for a course at one of the universities specified so I have a few questions.
1) Will I have to join the army afterwards, or can I do training as Logistics as thats what I am interested in
2) Do I have to take a medical exam (Yeah some of my mates were trying to freak me out so clear this one)
3) Can I study Biochemical sciences at uni for the army? Or Maths?
Thanks for anyone and post anything which you may be useful and the best answer shall be yours
In order to know the answer for sure you need to find out from Welbeck Defence School.
My guess is this is the early training grounds and the expectation is you stay on. I don’t think that you can be made to join the army, but I think you’ll find that the preference is given to students who do anticipate a career in the army.
Why would you want to take a place from a kid who does want an army career by going to an army college?
Are you not afraid you’ll join after having so much contact with them and kids who do want to join up.
These are questions you need to ask yourself.
