Here we go again!

HERE WE GO AGAIN

By Stanley Collymore.

What the real international community, as apart from the affected, overbearing, sanctimonious bullying and self-appointed one of exclusive Caucasian, western states, forlornly witnessed at Lancaster House just outside London in the United Kingdom on Tuesday 29th March 2011 was a 21st Century recreation of the 1884 Berlin Conference; and for those of you who don’t know what the latter is, then I suggest that you Google it.

The so-called Libyan rebels who are in effect western recruited and paid insurrectionists are a fake army; therefore they unsurprisingly lack the moral grit and political integrity concomitant with the will power and selfless determination that are attendant on these two characteristics to commit themselves courageously and wholeheartedly to the fray as true revolutionaries like the FARC, IRA, ETA, Vietcong, Red Brigade, Zanu-PF and others globally have either done in the past or are currently doing, regardless of the overall consequences for themselves, because they genuinely believe in their cause and will happily die for it if necessary.

This disparate, completely inept and extremely dysfunctional group of Libyan stooges that the west are generously buying and paying for, although there’s no guarantee that they’re who they say they are or their handlers for that matter claim them to be, any more than Al-Qaida taken to Afghanistan in similar circumstances by and at the behest of the west were Afghans, have only one personal interest, it’s money; and in the case of their more coherent and possibly intelligent and expatriate crew members, Libya’s equivalent of Iraq’s Chalabi, an additional cause and the two are summed up in money and personal power, and if to achieve these it means prostituting themselves to lies, disinformation, the denigration of their fellow Libyans who they perceive as dispensable because and have no compunction in stabbing them in the back because they see in which way the western winds are blowing and are quite enthusiastically prepared to proactively and maliciously assist this transitional process by telling the west what it wants to hear, then so be it; fully aware that they’ll be amply rewarded by their paymasters who conveniently omit to tell them, as they evidently didn’t in the case of the likes of Manuel Noriega, Saddam Hussein and, most vitally, Al-Qaida itself that this will only happen so long as their services are needed and they’re useful to the west.

Hillary Clinton let the cat out of the bag when she acknowledged that the west, in particular the United States of America is giving these Libyan insurrectionists enormous sums of money, “to see them through”; the same Hillary Clinton that along with Barack Obama – who is in charge here I wonder? – David Cameron, William Hague that likes nothing better than getting himself involved in rearguard actions, all want to suitably and dishonestly tear up UN Resolution 1970 that prohibits the sale or granting of arms to either side in the Libyan conflict, so that they can furnish those they favour with the weapons they want them to have. Doubtless like the Stinger Missiles and the like that they sumptuously handed to Al-Qaida in Afghanistan, who when they finally realized after they’d significantly assisted in the process of driving the Soviet Union out of Afghanistan that the United States and UK hadn’t any further use for them and like a woman scorned they redirected their western taught, combat skills and virtuous anger against the west for having exploited and then betrayed them as it did, used the very same weapons they’d been given aplenty by the same west to fight it, and for doing so metamorphosing instantaneously in those very same western eyes from being the good chaps who routed those horrid Commies to being the international terrorists whom the west self-servingly branded as malevolent terrorists and unfortunately have persuaded major parts of the world, even outside the west, that they are. Why else would they tolerate the barbaric injustices of Guantanamo Bay; Bagram, Abu Grahib, extraordinary rendition, secret CIA torture gulags in Eastern European countries like Romania and Poland, and the use of Pakistan, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and even Syria to source out the USA’s terrorist activities?

Yet, for all this, Hillary Clinton and the rest of her ilk profess that they don’t really know who these so-called Libyan rebels are or even what ideological stance, if any, they have. But in an alarming statement for those that readily buy into the Al-Qaida myth that is and ought to send cold shivers down their spine, a senior military officer representing the Pentagon said at a US Senate Foreign Affairs Committee hearing at the same time that Hillary Clinton was giving her practised spin in London directly after the 21st Century version of the 1884 Berlin Conference was held at Lancaster House, that there are “flickers of Al-Qaida”, his words not mine among the self-styled and self-appointed Transitional National Libyan Council and the so-called rebels fighting Colonel Gaddafi. Yet I distinctly recall that when l Gaddafi himself emphatically said that this was the case his remarks were extensively ridiculed and immediately dismissed out of hand. So what I’d like to know, and I’m quite sure that there are many other intelligent persons who would like to as well, is what brought about this 180 degree transformation on the part of the west and its allies; and how come that the western media quick to dismiss Gaddafi’s claims out of hand rather mealy-mouthed accept without question what the Yanks are now telling the rest of us? Or God forbid that the United States, that champion of universal human rights and all the rest of it, are actually and knowingly using Al-Qaida as they did in Afghanistan against the Soviets, an organization which since 9/11 they’ve been hysterically telling us nonstop is a terrorist one, to remove Colonel Gaddafi from office? But then, knowing the United States of America as I do and what power hungry Empires will do to maintain their hegemony, nothing that the USA does is likely to astonish me.

The same Al-Qaida as I mentioned earlier that the US and Britain heavily armed, financed and robustly supported, then implanted in Afghanistan to oust the Soviets who were invited to that country, a close neighbour – unlike the USA or Britain, in the very same way that by no stretch of the imagination could either or of these two countries be remotely considered as neighbours of Libya – by the then incumbent government of Afghanistan. If my memory serves me right, and I’m absolutely sure that it does, this “invitation” was dismissed and derisorily condemned by Britain following the lead of the United States as an invasion, and as such because of their very strong and committed humanitarian principles (shades of Libya 2011) they were morally bound to assist the Afghan people in whatever way they could from these vicious communists who’d no concept whatever of democratic values. Their smug justification in order words for them to train and heavily arm an insurgent force consisting exclusively of outsiders to do their dirty work, which they were too sacred to personally do themselves because of the commonly accepted nuclear war tenet which intervening personally would have triggered with the Soviet Union of Mutually Assured Destruction or MAD. And in tandem with money and great power arch Zionists and capitalists like nothing better than life itself as they courageously defend the rights and liberties of others whom they’ve personally got a self-interest to selectively protect to the last drop of somebody else’s blood.

So Al-Qaida were in effect the good guys back then just as we’re now likewise and dishonestly led to believe, if those of us that are fed this load of hogwash don’t or can’t think for ourselves and naively fall for it, that this current batch of Libyan puppets, aka the Libyan insurgents, are; and therefore all possible logistical, financial, military, political and diplomatic support should unstintingly be given to them; the same arguments I recall that were similarly and dishonestly advanced for supporting Al-Qaida who, even though they were western imported foreigners to Afghanistan deliberately taken there by the United States and UK and heavily supported by the Saudi Arabian dictatorship, Saudi Arabia being the country that most of them came from, were ludicrously trumpeted to the world as advocates of democracy; and bearing in mind the lack of all conventional democratic norms and niceties in Saudi Arabia, is a situation that is analogous to a brothel owner implausibly and out of character advocating absolute sexual abstinence; but Al-Qaida represented the new face of Afghanistan we were told back then, just as these Libyan cat’s-paws we’re equally lied to are the new hope of Libya. What arrant nonsense!

Ask yourselves, how is it that a supposedly truly representative liberation force belonging to a proper peoples’ revolution can’t make any real advances without the massive bombing support of whole squadrons of western military aircraft, and the moment there’s a lull in these western aerial bombardments these alleged liberation forces are quickly beaten back in disarray? Isn’t it like the playground bully who when he or she is seriously challenged responds, “I’ll get my big brother to come and sort you out?” And this is exactly what is happening here. Insurgents that don’t have the bottle to fight their own corner, with Mammy Mrs West holding their cowardly hands as she viciously confronts the supposed brute that is allegedly terrorizing her dear little , pampered ones! If these senseless puppets had the support nationally that they claim they have (would you believe it, they claim this support for them across the country is 99%, just the sort of percentage figure that Ben Ali and Hosni Mubarak got in their ballot box stuffing and stolen elections) how is it that they are constantly going hither and thither like Keystone Cops, with the ebb and flow of their nominal and notional successes very much dependent of western air power and indiscriminate strikes against Colonel Gaddafi’s strongholds? The truth is that they don’t have any such support outside what the west has engineered on their behalf in order to get its hands on Libyan oil.

Colonel Gaddafi obviously has his critics and opponents in and outside of Libya, and after over 40 years of very autocratic and somewhat capricious, one man rule in Libya it would have been most surprising indeed to any bright and thinking person if he didn’t. But seriously and frankly just ask yourselves this: “If Colonel Gaddafi is as extensively hated at home as the members of the collective west, who until quite recently were welcoming him as the Reformed Kid and like the Biblical, Prodigal Son were treating him to the banquet of western beneficence (why would they do this if he was such a bas—rd, unless they are pretty unsavoury themselves? And we all already know the answer to that question) how is it that he’s able to be mounting such immense attacks on these revolutionaries? Who is doing his fighting for him? And don’t say mercenaries as that is really rich coming from the west, particularly the United States that has over 100,000 of them in Iraq alone, a country it has supposedly vacated. And why with the west bombing the living daylights out of Colonel Gaddafi’s country is this 99% of the Libyan populace who it is alleged by these puppets are behind them not rising up in their multitudes and in revenge to do unspeakable things to this supposedly odious dictator along the lines of what the Italians did to Benito Mussolini and the Romanians did to Ceausescu? The unvarnished truth that I know the west and its phalanx of greedy oil speculators – did any of you see the informative Channel 4 Dispatches programme on BP? Contact Channel 4 and ask them to air it again as it ought to be compulsory viewing for those who idiotically still buy into the west’s insolent and lying notion that it is only the humanitarian business that they’re into when they “liberate” other states that like themselves are sovereign, independent ones and avarice and exploiting others couldn’t be further from pristine minds – clearly don’t want to hear; namely that Colonel Gaddafi still has significant support in his native Libya.

The Vietcong fighters had everything bar the proverbial kitchen sink persistently and viciously thrown at them by the Americans but they prevailed because they had the brave and unstinting support at grassroots level of the Vietnamese people; not even the blackest propaganda would could accuse Colonel Gaddafi of dousing his people with Agent Orange as the Americans did with the Vietnamese people. It was the same in Northern Ireland with the IRA which had and continued to garner huge support despite the barbarities carried out against local Catholics by the British Army and security services, aided and abetted by protestant paramilitaries. But the Vietcong and the IRA both survived, crucially won their liberation battles and became integral parts of their respective country’s government, not least because the people were on their side and supported them. Can anyone though in his or her right mind think for a solitary moment that the same thing will happen to Libya’s and North Africa’s newest western cat’s-paws? If you do then you clearly living in cloud cuckoo’s land because like Noriega, Saddam Hussein, Al-Qaida and all the others before them they’ll be used, summarily discarded and demonized and others put in their place when they’re no longer of any benefit to the west or the west has grown tired of them.

UN Resolution 1973 is in place now; cobbled together by the west and the Arab league: a more nefarious bunch of tyrannical, savage, corrupt, desert cutthroats one couldn’t possibly imagine no matter how hard one tried, to subjugate Colonel Gaddafi’s Libya but we won’t see any such resolutions brought to bear on Bahrain, the Yemen, Saudi Arabia, the Qatar or any of the other foul, Arab dictatorships in the Middle East; and one doesn’t have to look far to see the reasons behind this. They are all the close buddies of the United States and the UK who while they are gloatingly wreaking hell on Colonel Gaddafi’s Libya turn a resolute blind eye to the goings on in Bahrain and Yemen where peaceful protestors, members of a genuine peoples’ revolution, are gunned down in cold blood under the watchful eye of the US Fifth Fleet and the backing of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, David Cameron and the lot of them. So embedded is the USA in this nasty, hypocritical war of attrition against the people of Bahrain and Yemen that it even got the President of Yemen to take full responsibility and say so publicly for the US bombing of freedom fighters in that country. No wonder then that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are employing many of the double standards in their enormous repertoire of such dark arts in their explicit backing to the hilt of the President of Yemen in his desperate bid to cling on to power even though he’s being deserted on a continuing daily basis by previous supporters and masses of the Yemini populace.; but what Clinton and Obama fear most is that if they do the dirty on him he might very well spill the beans since he proverbially and quite literally as well I suspect knows where the bodies are. And even though the United Sates isn’t a signatory to the ICC the law of Universal Jurisdiction is universal and neither Obama nor Clinton will remain in power for ever; one day they will be ordinary civilians again.

But have you noticed how very reluctant not only the United States of America and its military partners but also the entire western media are about referring to the cold-blooded trampling by Saudi, Kuwaiti and UAE forces into Bahrain to kill Bahrainis an invasion? As a matter of fact Hillary Clinton is on record as saying that the beleaguered Bahraini despot is quite at liberty to call in outside forces to kill in cold blood the people of Bahrain that have stated quite plainly that they want him to step down as the hated, hereditary, autocratic and undemocratic ruler of their country. Why is this, I wonder? As if I didn’t already know! And where I’d like to know do the United Sates and Britain love of democracy and universal human rights come into play and especially in this particular equation. Or like every other thing about these two countries it is all driven by greed and selective amnesia?

What we’re being forced to watch with the United States, Britain and their bevy of fellow bully boys and especially so in the case of Libya, is analogous I think to going to a boxing match; the two fighters are in the ring having a go at each other but it’s clear that one boxer is more adept in his art than the other and will win if the fight is allowed to follow its natural course. But that doesn’t happen, for all of a sudden a group of spectators who don’t want their man, the guy on the receiving end of things, to lose jump into the ring and against the Queensbury rules and all the precepts associated with the noble art of boxing, viciously and tenaciously grab hold of the fighter whose boxing skills have put him the ascendancy of this particular fight, prevent a fair contest from being waged by nastily restricting and handicapping him, and as they do so allow their man who now has an unfair advantage to pummel his opponent; at the end of which they declare him the worthy winner while it’s they who walk of with the valuable prize money that in  Libya’s case is its immense oil reserves.

The 21st Century recreation in London on Tuesday 29 March 2011 of the reprehensible 1884 Berlin Conference fooled no one, unless that person is an utter scoundrel and doesn’t give a damn about anyone else or likes being taken advantage of from a commonsense, or lack of it, point of view.
